                                                                     UPDATE
Bug Busters teamed with Dr. Michael F. Potter of the University of Kentucky, Urban Entomologist, to help a client as Industry Consultants
Bug Busters was asked to inspect and evaluate a Bed Bug infestation in an occupied unit. Steve partnered with DR. Potter,  The client needed the input from the top entomologist in the country and the most experienced pest control company in Bed Bugs in the area. Details still pending on the outcome but with the combined experience of the two made a great impression on the client.

Bed Bugs on the Move and Now in the Northwest.
Bug Busters' has a proven treatment protocal that has worked on 100's of applications.
There is no other company that has treated more Bed Bug complaints in the Multi-family industry then Bug Busters
Bed Bugs WILL NOT go away with just one treatment. All of the research tells us that it will take multiple applications and very diligent inspections with every possible hiding spot being treated. I have taken it upon myself to make sure that my team and I are fully informed on every aspect of the Bed Bug's habits and treatments. Bug Busters is leading the industry in Western Washington,  and because of this we have advised numerous people throughout the United States with their Bed Bug problems.

As you all know Bed Bugs do not have wings and fly, they do not migrate outdoors, they do not just show up in our homes. They are brought in by people, unknowing people, but without the help of the human they would not be able to spread from one side of the world to the other. Bed Bugs are on the come back and will soon be the #1 pest complaint in the country due to the travel that we do, the places we stay and the fact that you don’t see them until it is a large infestation that has been let go for a while.

WHY THE RESURGENCE? Theories abound as to why bed bugs have made such a sudden comeback in the United States. International travel is often mentioned and surely is a contributing factor. Yet people have been traveling to and from this country for years, and this alone does not explain the rapid increase in such a brief time. Along with business and recreational travel, immigration from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Central America/Mexico has been hugely important in the spread of bed bugs to this country (the Hispanic population in Kentucky, for example, has increased three-fold in the last decade). Bed bugs have long been common in other areas of the world, and populations presumably have been increasing since the loss of DDT and other highly effective insecticides. Immigrants to new lands also tend to congregate and share the necessities of life, including mattresses and other furnishings. ( PCT Magazine 2005 )

One of the new ways of introducing Bed Bugs into a unit or your home is through the use of rental furniture and executive suites at apartment communities.  The suite company rents a unit and fills it with rental furniture. They then have people visiting for work stay in these suites for weeks and maybe months. These people bring the Bed Bugs with them. Well know the unit is no longer a suite so they remove the furniture, the furniture is still in great shape and is now shipped to your new resident that just moved in from out of state and decided to rent furniture. They live there for a few weeks and then complaint to you about the bug bites that they are getting every night. Neither you nor your resident knew that the furniture they rented came from an infested unit last month.

These pests need the help of people to not only survive on but to move around the country and the world. So if we did not have people we would not have Bed Bugs. This pest is in direct relation to humans and they rely upon us completely

Bed Bugs
The Biggest Infestation So Far

Here are a few shots of an apartment unit that has the biggest infestation of Bed Bugs that I have ever seen. This unit is occupied and has been treated twice before by one of the big named companies before they called Bug Busters.

As I interviewed the resident in the living room I noticed all of the Bed Bugs and their droppings all around the roof line of the unit. Typical Bed Bug infestations will be in the bedrooms and a small amount in the living-room, if the resident has moved to that room to sleep. This unit has Bed Bugs congregating all over the unit. Even the kitchen and the dinning room had bed bugs visible.

As we started the treatment we found them in every possible spot in the unit. As you can see, they had entered the wall voids by accessing the wall sockets and the light fixtures. This has possibly infested the units that surround this one, this could cause a wild fire for the management that would be very hard to extinguish.

This is a serious  pest and you need to handle it quickly and professionally to insure you are not held liable.
